Directions For Use

  1. Remove required tube(s) from the blister package
  2. Hold tube upright, peel the ring lock off, then twist off the cap
  3. Sites of application: For cats – at the back of the neck. For dogs up to 25kg – between the shoulder blades. For dogs over 25kg, apply by dividing the dose into 3 application sites – 1 site between the shoulder blades, 1 site on the middle of the back between the hips, and 1 site in between
  4. The animal should be standing for easy application. Remove collar prior to application and replace when product is dry. Part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze firmly to apply the solution directly on the skin. Avoid your pet’s eyes or mouth
  5. Record the treatment date and repeat monthly as required
  6. Avoid applying the product while the animal is wet. Once dry, the product remains efficacious following shampoo treatment (please use soap-free shampoo), swimming or exposure to rain

Flea Control And Prevention

  • NEOVET kills adult and larval fleas within 20 minutes of contact by absorption via the flea intersegmental membranes
  • Stops fleas from feeding in 3-5 minutes
  • Fleas are not required to bite the animal to receive a lethal dose
  • The successive feeding activity of fleas on pets may elicit a hypersensitivity skin disorder known as flea allergy dermatitis (FAD)
  • Treatment of pets with NEOVET rapidly kills fleas and reduces the incidence of this condition
  • NEOVET may be used as the only product for flea control as it breaks the life cycle and kills fleas emerging from the environment to reinfest the pets
  • More rapid resolution of heavy environmental infestations may be obtained by additional environmental control measures using a suitable registered product
  • It is recommended that all pets in the same environment should be protected by NEOVET

Heartworm Prevention

  • Treatment with NEOVET should start 1 month before the first exposure to mosquitoes
  • The product must be applied at one month intervals during the time of the year when mosquitoes (which carry and transmit the heartworm larvae) are present
  • In many areas of Australia, continuous year-round heartworm prevention is recommended
  • To establish a routine, it is recommended that the same day or date by used each month to administer NEOVET
  • When replacing another heartworm preventative product, the first treatment with NEOVET must be given within one month of the last dose of the previous product

Worm Control

  • NEOVET treats and controls the major gastrointestinal and nematodes of dogs and cats but does not control tapeworms
  • Pets can become reinfested with worms but regular use of NEOVET will remove them
  • If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian

Treatment and Control of Ear Mites

  • For the treatment of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), NEOVET is highly efficacious as a single dose
  • Monthly application will control any subsequent ear mite infestation
  • To maximise efficacy, thorough cleaning of the ear canal is recommended with a product that is registered for that purpose or as directed by a veterinarian

Treatment and Control of Sarcoptic Mange (Dogs Only)

  • NEOVET for dogs eliminates 100% of sarcoptic mites ( Sarcoptes scabiei ) after a single dose
  • A second dose of NEOVET a month later will result in continued improvement of the clinical signs associated with sarcoptic mange
  • Monthly application will control any subsequent sarcoptic mite infestation

Treatment and Control of Lungworm (Cats Only)

  • For the treatment of lungworm ( aelurostrongylus abstrusus), NEOVET for cats is highly efficacious as a single dose
  • Monthly application will control any subsequent lungworm infections

Puppies

  • Puppies may be treated with NEOVET ADULT from 7 weeks of age
  • For control of roundworms and hookworms, puppies require worming at 2, 4, and 8 weeks of age
  • Once treatment with NEOVET ADULT is commenced from 7 weeks of age, once monthly dosage will control worms

Kittens

  • Kittens may be treated with the NEOVET ADULT from 9 weeks of age
  • For control of roundworms and hookworms, kittens require worming at 6 and 8 weeks of age
  • Once treatment with NEOVET ADULT is commenced after 9 weeks of age, once monthly dosage will control worms

Precautions

  • Do not apply NEOVET FOR DOGS to cats
  • Use with caution in sick, debilitated or underweight animals
  • NEOVET may be safely applied to heartworm infected dogs or cats – there is no requirement for a heartworm test before commencing treatment
  • However, a diagnostic test for heartworm prior to commencement of treatment is recommended to ensure the optimum health of dogs and cats
  • Take care to avoid the product coming into contact with eyes or mouth of the animal
  • Ingestion by the recipient or in-contact animals should be prevented
  • NEOVET has no strong chemical smell
  • The liquid may discolour or damage certain surfaces and fabrics – eg polished floorboards, leather - exclude the animal from contact with such surfaces until the product dries on their coat

Pregnancy and Lactation

  • No primary embryo-toxic, teratogenic or reproductive toxic effect have been observed with imidacloprid or moxidectin in laboratory species
  • Evidence suggests that no adverse effects are to be expected in pregnant and lactating cats
  • However, the safety of NEOVET has not been established during pregnancy and lactation

Note

  • Not to be used for any purpose or in any manner contrary to the label
  • Harmful if swallowed
  • Will damage eyes – avoid contact with eyes
  • If in contact with eyes, wash out with water immediately
  • Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders
  • Wash hands after use
